| Dog Licenses
Lions Bay dog licenses are required for all dogs over the age of 6 months with a limit of 2 dogs permitted per home. Dog licenses are available from the Village Office. License fees are $30 for spayed or neutered dogs and $60 for un-spayed or un-neutered dogs. The license fee is due January 1st of each year and is valid for that calendar year.
Dogs must be under the owner's direct control and leashed at all times while on public land. This bylaw is enforced to protect residents and dogs. Kelvin Grove Beach Park, Marjory Meadows and the trail from Soundview to Bayview Road has been designated as off-leash areas. Dog owners are reminded that they must clean up after their dogs wherever they are in the Village. Dog waste bags are available at various locations in the community and owners are requested to dispose of the waste in their household garbage.
Boat Spaces
Boat spaces are available to rent at Lions Bay Beach Park for small boat storage (canoes, kayaks and dinghies. Fees are $100 for a single space. Larger boats may require 2 spaces. Fees are due January 1st and are for that calendar year. Upon payment, boat owners will receive a decal to be affixed to the boat. Boat owners should insure that boats are securely attached with a lock to the boat racks as the Village does not assume any liability in renting the boat spaces.
Resident Parking Passes are required for 'Resident Parking Only' areas
There are several areas of Lions Bay which are designated as 'Resident Parking Only'. These areas are: Lower Kelvin Grove (Tidewater Way, Sweetwater Place, Periwinkle Place) and portions of Kelvin Grove Beach Parking Lot, Brunswick Beach, Sunset Drive, at the top of Oceanview Road as well as on Lions Bay Avenue and Seaview Place. Residents may obtain parking passes from the Village Office if they wish to park in these areas to avoid being issued a parking ticket or being towed. Two complimentary resident parking passes have been mailed with the 2008 property tax notices. All previously issued resident parking passes expire at the end of July and the new ones expire July 31, 2009. If the pass is lost or if additional passes are required, there is a $20 charge for each pass. If residents are planning a social gathering where guests would require parking in these areas, temporary passes can be issued from the Village Office for a fee of $1 per pass. A portion of Kelvin Grove and Lions Bay parking lots have been designated as 'Marina or public parking'. Day passes may be purchased from the Lions Bay Marina or the Village Office and must be clearly displayed on the dash. |
