Assessment Committees

 

Emergency Services – to review and make recommendations to Council regarding the Village’s Emergency Services

Indemnification – to review and make recommendations to Council regarding Council Indemnification.

Infrastructure Replacement/Maintenance – to review and make recommendations to Council regarding the replacement and maintenance of the Village’s roads and waterlines.

Regional District – to review and make recommendations to Council regarding the Village’s membership in the Greater Vancouver Regional District.

 

Finance Committee – In December 2002, a Finance Committee was formed with members from the community to provide advice and assistance on matters related to finance.  The scope of activities included establishing budget principles and indicators to guide financial planning and decision-making.

 

Events Committee - The focus of the Events Committee is to plan, develop and administer recreational, community and cultural events for the residents of Lions Bay.  Recreation programs are administered through the Village Office.

 

Tree Committee – The purpose of the Tree Committee is to act in an advisory capacity to Council on matters related to the development, interpretation, enforcement and future direction of tree policy and management in the Village of Lions Bay.

 

Sea to Sky Highway Community Advisory Committee – This committee is comprised of community members appointed by Council to solicit input regarding highway improvements and to liaise with the design team, Council and residents.

 

Board of Variance – The Board of Variance rules on applications made regarding the relaxation of specific portions of the Zoning Bylaw No. 362.  The BOV can rule on heights and setbacks only and hardship must be proven by the applicant.  There is no charge for making an application to the BOV however, 10% is added to the Building Permit fee.
