The implementation of the traffic pattern changes and construction of the temporary pedestrian crossing has been delayed until early June, possibly next week.

Please note that several measures not mentioned in the bulletin will be implemented at the same time for pedestrian safety:

A speed limit reduction to 30 kph,

Advisory signage, including speed limit and crosswalk signage, and

Push-button activated flashing amber lights

Dog Licence & Boat Space Rental fees are due January 1
Please drop by the Village Office to pick up your 2008 dog licence and boat space decal. 
This year with each dog licence purchased, dog owners will receive a “Teddy Ball”, which is a cloth bag with a few dog waste bags which makes it easy for owners to pick up what their dogs leave behind. 
Teddy Balls have been generously donated by Carole Conlin.

 Bears - Residents are reminded to keep their garbage stored properly, hummingbird & birdseed feeders out of reach of bears, BBQ's kept clean, pets fed indoors and fridges/freezers stored indoors.

Blasting - Kiewit has been blasting the rock north of Alberta Creek. Some homes have experienced shaking and have advised they may have damage due to the blasts.  Residents may contact the Village office at office@lionsbay.ca or Kiewit directly at 604-629-5419.  Blasting is expected to continue for some time.  Click on the Sea to Sky Highway web site (www.seatoskyhighwayimprovements.ca) for the latest information.
