HIGHLIGHTS OF THE SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
OF THE VILLAGE OF LIONS BAY
HELD ON MONDAY July 26, 2005 at 5:30 pm

1. Mayor Miller called the meeting to order at 5:30 pm.
2. Councillor Page requested that the tree cutting application for the pine tree at 145 Mountain Drive be added under Unfinished Business.
A motion was passed to approve the agenda as amended.
3. A motion was passed to approve the minutes of the regular council meeting
held on July 18, 2005.
4, Unfinished Business
A. Bylaw No. 375, 2005, Lions Bay Register of Electors
A motion was passed to adopt Bylaw No. 375, 2005.
B. Parking on Seaview Place
Councillor Turpin arrived at 5:45 pm.
A motion was passed to approve the Parking Committee’s
recommendations to leave the parking designations on Seaview
Place as is, and that staff prepare a report on the collection of
parking fines through the towing company and feasibility of paid
parking for the September 6, 2005 Council meeting. Opposed
Councillor Page.
C. Pine Tree at 145 Mountain Drive
A motion was passed to refer the conditions of approval to trim a
pine tree on municipal property abutting 130 Mountain Drive back
to the Tree Committee for clarification.
5. Reports
Financial Statement for the period ending June 30, 2005.
A motion was passed to receive the Financial Statement for the period
ending June 30, 2005.
A motion was passed to approve the use of reserves in the amount of
$30,320 by Lions Bay Fire Rescue subject to the Emergency Assessment
Committee confirming the need and the urgency.
6. Recess
A motion was passed to recess the meeting at 6:30 pm and readjourn at
6:55 pm.
7. In Camera
A motion was passed to revert to In Camera at 6:55 pm
regarding:
A. Personnel Pursuant to Section 90 (1) (c) of the Community Charter
(1 item)
B. Legal Pursuant to Section 90 (1) (g) of the Community Charter
(1 item)
A motion was passed to revert the meeting back to regular meeting at
7:05 pm.
8. Adjournment
A motion was passed to adjourn the meeting at 7:05 pm
